Here is what she has to say-

No matter what event you are trying to organize, something is bound to go wrong at some point. Weddings are no exception to this rule. While there are things that are beyond people’s control, there is a lot that could have been completely avoided if only proper planning was done. These are common wedding planning mistakes everyone should avoid making:

1. Forgetting To Share Plan, Timeline, And Budget To Involved Parties

One of the biggest mistakes couples and wedding planners can ever make is not sharing what they are planning to do for the wedding with all involved parties. This is not the time to surprise them. In fact, for the day to be satisfactory, all these involved parties must sit down together to plan everything from the timeline to the budget to the guest list.

Wedding planners need to remember that the couple will be the ones paying for it so they need to always be updated with major decisions related to the wedding.

2. Choosing Not To Hire A Wedding Videographer

Weddings happen rarely in our lives so you should take the chance of having a preserved copy of all the things that happened on your wedding date. This is why videographers are a must for every wedding.

There is, however, a certain trend lately for couples to just skip the videographer. Videography services, after all, are not cheap.

Not hiring a wedding videographer is a big mistake. Who would not want to watch videos of the couple exchanging their vows a couple of years down the road? Videographers are there to document the best moments of the entire event and it would be foolish to pass up the chance of hiring them.

3. Spending Entire Fashion Budget On Just The Gown

As the centerpiece of the whole wedding’s fashion ensemble, the bridal gown is incredibly important. The gown must look stunning and must fit the bride well. But more importantly, it must fit your budget.

If you have earmarked $2,000 on your special look that does not mean that you are going to spend everything on the gown. Remember that there are other things that you will have to buy or rent jewelry, shoes, undergarments and hair accessories. Plus, you may have to make alterations on the gown itself.

4. Opting to hire “friends”

A lot of couples are guilty of this. In an effort to save costs, some couples tend to just “hire” friends to do some things during their weddings. For example, couples may hire amateur bands to play on their wedding reception just because they are friends with the vocalist.

This is not an advisable move. You would want things professionally done so you are better off working with a vendor or an experienced service provider. Just invite your friends to the wedding and have them enjoy the day.

Say, for example, you need professional videographers, photographers and even event management team to do things for you. For a grand ceremony, you have to have hired the best wedding furniture rental available around you. You need to ensure the wedding venue looks grand and gorgeous.

5. Micromanaging Vendors

Micromanaging is good up to a certain level. Of course, if you are one of the couples involved or the wedding planner, you would want to nitpick even the smallest detail of everything that will go on in the wedding.

This can, however, make the vendors resent you. These are talented and experienced professionals you are talking to so you just have to trust their judgment at some point. Just make sure to communicate to them the things that you want in the first few meetings. Go for best rental for wedding and make sure you communicate well with them to ensure you get exactly what you want.

6. Inviting A Lot Of People (Unimportant People)

You do not have to invite everyone you know! When it comes to attendance, being conservative about your expectations is the rule. Generally speaking, 10% of the people you invite will be unable to attend.

Even then, you have to make sure that the people invited will fit the number of guests expected in your venue’s package.

7. Having No Backup Plans

No wedding will ever go 100 percent according to plan. If there are issues that will happen a few days or during the actual wedding day, you need to have backup plans that you can use to avert a disaster.

Think carefully and anticipate all the things that could go wrong during the wedding. Prepare for it and you can be assured that the day will still be great for everyone even if plan A didn’t go as expected.
