Date nights don’t have to be expensive. If you spend a little time planning, you can have a date night that is fun. I invited Cheryl Rollen in to share some ideas of budget friendly date nights.
Here is what she has to say-
It’s January, most of us are broke, and it’s easy to let the miserable weather get you down. If you’re suffering from a dose of the blues, nothing will cheer you up like a romantic date with your other half. If you’re keen to spend quality time together, here are some blues-busting, budget-friendly date ideas to try this weekend.
Movie Night
Do you usually go to the movies, order a load of snacks? If so, why not switch things up, save yourself a ton of money, and enjoy a movie night at home? All you need is a heap of blankets, some edible treats, and of course, a film you both want to see.
You can download one on Amazon. Pop a pizza in the oven or rustle up some nachos and then treat yourself to ice cream and popcorn. If you’re after something a little fancier than the standard sweet or salted, you can check out exotic flavors at Dell Cove online.
Home Cooked Feast
If you can’t afford to book a table at your favorite restaurant this month, why not hone your culinary skills, crack out your new cookbooks, and get your apron on? You can create a sumptuous 3-course feast with drinks for a fraction of the price you’d pay in a restaurant.
You can dress up as if you were going out, and nobody has to drive, so you can both enjoy a glass of wine or two. If you’re not massively confident in the kitchen, search for simple recipes. You can find some great options that only take 15-30 minutes.
Walk in the Park
Even in the winter, it’s good for the soul to get outside and breathe in some fresh air. Take a trip to the park, go cycling or simply wander around hand in hand. Feed the ducks, hire a boat or find a bench and watch the world go by.
Wrap up warm, catch up on the week’s events, and take a flask of coffee or hot chocolate with you. Often, the simplest ideas are the best. You get to spend time together and enjoy the surroundings without stressing about your finances.
Home Spa
Have you had a tough week at work? Is your body craving some downtime? If so, why not turn your living room into a home spa and treat yourselves to some indulgent, relaxing treatments?
Change into comfortable clothes and robes, and put some calming music on. Light some candles, apply a face pack, and take it turns to enjoy a soothing shoulder massage. If you don’t already have products, such as diffusers, scented candles, and massage oil at home, you can order them online.
If you’re feeling the pinch, you don’t have to give up dating. These affordable ideas will give you something to look forward to, and enable you to spend quality time with your partner without spending a fortune. Enjoy!
