Are you struggling to get organized in your kitchen? If so, Mary Fontell has a few pointers for you. When you are organized, it makes cooking a lot more enjoyable.
Here’s what she has to say-
Cooking can be an enjoyable experience. If you groan inwardly each time you think of making a meal, you could be doing things wrong. A lack of space in the kitchen can be a major factor in ruining your cooking experience.
How can you have fun if you have to rummage through piles before you reach what you’re after? If you don’t have any surface space to prepare, it’s no wonder you find the experience stressful! Getting control of the space in your kitchen can help you enjoy the cooking process. Here are a few kitchen clearing methods worth your time!
Once you’ve cleared clutter from your kitchen, you’ll be able to enjoy cooking more. The kitchen is prone to clutter, especially if you don’t have much cupboard space. The trick to tackling the problem is working out what you need. Large gadgets such as grills and blenders are prime culprits for taking up space.
Be honest. How often do you use these? Why not grill meat in a frying pan instead? Be ruthless with what you do and don’t need. Remember that all the space you clear will help your cooking quest.
Some things can’t be thrown away. Food, for example, is something that no chef can go without! Same goes for saucepans and frying pans. They may take up a lot of space, but you’re going to need them. Storage solutions can be a lifesaver in these instances.
Get creative with kitchen organization. Can you hang your utensils on a rail, rather than filling a drawer? Same goes for frying and sauce pans. If done right, a hanging block can look great! Think, too, about storing your food. Are you fed up of everything falling out each time you open the fridge?
Storing food in airtight containers, or even using vacuum packing, can save a lot of space. Do a little research and read a vacuum sealer review to see if it’s the choice for you. Use the same method with your store cupboard, too! Worst comes to worst you could buy a separate kitchen block and keep some excess there. Bear in mind that you’ll need to have the floor space to do this!
MAKE THE MOST OF KITCHEN CABINETS
Organizing your cupboards will leave you with a lot more space. Think of this as a jigsaw puzzle and take the time to slot everything in. Moving things around a little will make it a lot easier to get everything to fit.
Give everything a set place, and make sure you arrange it in the best way possible. With saucepans, keep all handles pointing towards that back, for example. With cans, stack the layers two deep where possible.
If you’re not a fan of the kitchen anyway, this may not seem like a lot of fun. It’ll be well worth the time you spend, though! Again, keep in mind those easy to navigate cupboards you’ve always dreamed of!
