Wedding favors is a great way to thank your guests for taking part in your big day. Not only that, it gives them something to help remember the occasion. I brought Jessica Strauder on to share with us some fun wedding favors you can give your guests.
Here’s what she has to say-
It’s one of the aspects to planning the whole day that can be particularly stressful. It can be hard knowing what to do for your favors, especially as you need to make sure that at least a significant portion of the guest list will actually enjoy whatever you go for.
You need to try and find something that is relatively inoffensive, and which people are likely to enjoy in large numbers. Otherwise, you might find that they are not too happy with the favors, and that can put a kind of damper on events. Let’s try to find some inspiration for choosing favors that you guests will actually want to take home.
Unique CD or Playlist
If you are tired of seeing the same old favors at weddings the whole time, then here is one option which might go down particularly well with your guests. If you make a mix tape (except on a CD or playlist, so your guests can enjoy it) then you will find that people actually really love this idea.
You can fill it with a list of songs from the wedding day itself, by taking them directly out of your party playlist for the evening. Definitely make sure to include your first dance song, and throw in a few old classics by way of surprise as well.
Who’s to say you have to give something that won’t actually be useful in everyday life? If you want to give something that everyone will genuinely be able to use, then personalized stationery is a great way to go.
This works in a number of ways for you, too. If you buy stationery online for your favor, you will find that it is a relatively cheap way of keeping everyone happy. You could get people a set of stationery rather than just a single item if you really want to impress them.
Everyone loves treats – and those who don’t will probably be happy to give theirs away to someone else. Giving sweets and candies as favors is a little more traditional, and for this reason alone people often overlook it altogether. However, done right it can actually be one of the better options available.
A particularly popular choice is to put together a bag of old favorites from childhood, perhaps even track down some little-known new ones as well. You might be surprised at how excited even your more mature guests will get over this!
If you like the CD idea above, but you’re unsure if your friends even use CDs anymore, then you might be on to something. For a more modern crowd, you might want to use a flash drive instead. The beauty of this is that as well as being a mix tape, you could also use it for a number of other things.
For example, you could take a digital copy of the invitation and table layout. Maybe you have other ideas that would work well. Go to the effort of personalizing the exterior of the flash drive as well, and you might be on to a favor winner with this one.
