How to Distress Jeans

I really like that distressed jeans look where you the white threads are showing. You pay a lot of money to purchase jeans that look like this, so I decided to learn how to create this look on my own. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be and I’ve been very happy with the results.

Make Several Small Cuts in the Material

Start by making several small cuts in the material with the tip of a sharp pair of scissors. Cut the material as long as you would like the hole to be with each snip.

Pull the Blue Fibers With a Pair of Tweezers

Now you need to use a pair of tweezers to pull the blue fibers away from the white strings. Continue to pull the blue fibers away until you have the desired sized hole you are aiming for.

Wash the Jeans

Once you have cut the number of holes in your jeans that you would like and pulled out the blue fibers, you should run them through a wash cycle. This will leave a frayed look around the holes.

I hope that this project works out for you and you are able to create the fashion and style you are looking for.
