I highly encourage you to have regular date nights at home. If you are looking for a great meal to cook for your next at home date night, then check out this recipe from Tammy Lenard.
Here’s what she has to say-
Every now and then it’s nice to make a home-cooked, romantic meal for you and your husband. He will certainly appreciate the effort, and you both get to sit down and enjoy some delicious food and spend some quality time on your relationship.
Popular choices for these sorts of dinners include your spouse’s favorite dishes, or why not try some food that has aphrodisiac qualities? Check out my suggestions and recipes below.
Appetizer: Dressed Crab Salad
When most people think of an aphrodisiac starter, oysters immediately spring to mind. But not many realize that crab, because of its high zinc levels is a great aphrodisiac too. That is why you should go for a delicious dressed crab salad for your starter. It is super simple too.
First get a hold of a fresh crab. Then steam until cooked. Then remove the crab meat from the shell. You can find a tutorial here.
Once you have the crab meat, flake the white meat and set aside. Then mix the brown meat with lemon juice and a little creme fraiche to make a sauce.
Then sprinkle the white crab over salad greens, try arugula as this has aphrodisiac quality too. Then dress with the brown meat creme fraiche and serve with a wedge of lemon and some lightly toasted bread.
Entree: Italian Pulled Beef With Pine Nuts
When deciding on the main course, it can be easy to go for steak or beef, because we know that it what our other half would like. But how about doing something a little more interesting with it this time?
Instead of serving the tradition steak and fries try this old Italian recipe instead. You get a joint of beef and cook it in a big pot of pasta with garlic and herbs. Then you add pine nuts, again being full of zinc they are the perfect aphrodisiac.
Once cooked to your liking you can shred the beef similar to pulled pork. Serve with the passata sauce over pasta for a filling and delicious entree.
Everyone know that chocolate is an aphrodisiac, but not many people realize it is because consuming it releases dopamine into the body, which is the pleasure hormone.
But after such a big meal you won’t want too large a dessert otherwise; you will both lose your enthusiasm! Instead, try your hand at some homemade chocolate truffles. All you need is some good quality chocolate and some double cream.
Add the cream and a small amount of chocolate to a plastic bowl, then microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir and continue the process until all of the chocolate has dissolved.
It is worth mentioning that the point, that stirring the mixture can help you melt the chocolate without cause the cream to over boil, so always do that before you put it back in the microwave.
Then pour the mixture into a tub like a food tub or one use for ice cream. Allow it to cool and then refrigerate for 24 hours. These are great because you can make them beforehand, so you have less to do on the night.
Once chilled use a melon baller or a teaspoon to get a dime sized portion of the mixture out roll into a ball and coat in cocoa powder or desiccated coconut and serve.
