Austin and I did many things to make our wedding more meaningful. We asked all of our friends and family to help us. It was important that we got everyone involved as much as possible. There are so many ways you can make the day more meaningful.
Jenny Horrend has some great ideas for how you can make your big day special. Here’s what she has to say-
Your wedding day is a significant step in your life. It’s when two people decide to commit themselves to one another for the rest of their lives. How can you make sure that your ceremony and celebration reflect that? Well, read on for some advice on how to make that wedding of your really meaningful.
Write Your Own Vows
A meaningful touch to your wedding that can work very well is to write you own vows. A lot of people get stressed out with this idea because they want them to be perfect and they don’t want to mess up when they are reading them either! But you shouldn’t let that put you off.
In fact, as long as they are from the heart and show how much you appreciate and love the other person, you can’t go wrong. If you are still unsure, then get a trusted friend to read over them to check that they are OK.
Custom Wedding Rings
Another way to make your wedding ceremony more meaningful is to get your rings made especially for you. You can have your own designs fashion by companies like custom wedding rings Sydney. Then you can choose the design, the stones you have in them, and even get them engraved with a personal and private message on the inside.
Give Your Spouse a Gift
Something else that you can do to make your wedding may more meaningful between the two of you is to exchange gifts. Wedding days can be a heady mix of nervousness and talking to all you guests. That means sometimes there is little time to be together, even though it is meant to be your day!
Buying each other a gift can help in both circumstances. Firstly it can help quell the nerves when given before the ceremony, and you will be able to see that your other half definitely wants to be with you. Secondly, it can help you remind you that while you have the rest of your life to make each other happy.
Wedding Time Capsule
Another meaningful idea is to create a wedding time capsule. You can do this as part of the wedding ceremony, or afterward. Get a box, and place in it all sorts of thing from the day. You can put in the invites, place cards, a sample of the wedding favors and some confetti. That sort of thing. Then seal it up and bury it in the garden. Dig it up every 10 years or so, as a wonderful reminder of the day.
Messages From Loved One That Can’t be There
A wedding isn’t just meaningful for the two people that are tying the knot. It also holds great significance for the families and friends involved. Unfortunately, not everyone that is invited can always attend the day.
But they can send a message or letter to be read out during the reception, or displayed on a pin board or projector. This allows even those that are far away to convey their good wishes and advice for the day. You can use Facetime or Skype too for this purpose too!
